The story

From Pitch to Barrel

Pitch & Barrel began with an Australian cricketer who spent his summers between two obsessions: the game, and the vineyards that surround it. Between matches he worked the rows of the Barossa Valley and Victoria's Murray Darling, and found what the two crafts share: patience, timing, and no shortcuts.

Every wine in the range is named for something in the game. The sparkling is Maiden Century, for the first hundred. The Moscato, at 7.8%, is Maiden Over. The Barossa Shiraz that spends nearly two years in barrel is Keeper's Reserve. The joke only works if the wine is good, which is the point.
